Foundational Skills for Dogs (Puppies)
with Tiana Shuster
$25
Foundation Skills is designed for adolescent puppies who may suddenly seem to have forgotten their manners—pulling on the leash, ignoring cues, jumping, or developing a little “selective hearing.” In this four-week class, you and your puppy will build essential life skills including sit, down, loose-leash walking, reliable recalls, impulse control, focus, and confidence through positive, relationship-based training. Rather than focusing solely on obedience, we help strengthen communication and understanding between you and your dog during this important stage of development. You'll leave with practical skills you can use every day and a puppy that is eager to work with you and succeed in the real world. This class is ideal for puppies 4–6 months of age. No previous training is required. Class size is limited to six dogs to ensure individualized instruction and plenty of one-on-one coaching. Dogs need to be current on age-appropriate vaccinations. NOTE: $135 is paid directly instructor for supplies and facility use. Students should bring a 6 foot leash, a buckle collar, collar/harness they walk the pup on, high value treats such as hotdogs or cheese. (no retractable leashes) **NOTE: No Class on 10/2!
