Participants will build confidence while developing skills such as punching, kicking, footwork, and partner training through guided instruction and controlled drills. The class emphasizes fitness, coordination, and practical techniques while encouraging personal growth at every level. No prior experience is required, and all body types and fitness levels are welcome. Led by FCMAA instructors Mr. Steve and Mrs. Shaq, students should wear comfortable athletic clothing and bring a water bottle.
Crochet Bootcamp - Sturgis

New to crochet? This focused, hands-on “Boot Camp” is designed for absolute beginners who want to learn the basics in a single afternoon through a structured, supportive, and immersive session. You’ll receive step-by-step instruction, guided practice, and individualized support as you learn how to hold yarn and hooks, make a slip knot and foundation chain, and work single and double crochet stitches while understanding tension and stitch height. By the end of class, you’ll also be able to recognize and correct common beginner mistakes and feel confident continuing on your own. Students will complete a small practice swatch to demonstrate the stitches learned, as this is a skill-building workshop rather than a full project class. Please bring worsted weight yarn in a light color, a 5.5–6.5 mm hook (or size appropriate for your yarn), scissors, and optional stitch markers; no prior experience is required, and breaks will be included.
